Hi

last attempt. try this in .htaccess :
<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecRuleEngine Off
SecFilterInheritance Off
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
SecRuleRemoveById 300015 3000016 3000017
</IfModule>

if that doesn't work then i'm afraid you may have to ask your hosting support to do it as i've red about it and some hosts have it locked and so you cant turn off in htaccess

No luck with that either I'm afraid. I've opened a support ticket with the hosting company asking about asfunction: being blocked and mod_security settings, apache mod filtering to see if they have any idea. I'll let you know if they come back with something. Thanks for the help

Hi,

Sorry we have been unable to solve the issue up until now. But at least I think we have identified the problem. Some things are just beyond our control.

Hopefully the host can relax some settings to allow you to run Xerte with them or else the only way will be to switch hosts - there are plenty of people running Xerte on 3rd party hosting services...

Let us know what you find out about the issue from your host.

Hi John,
They came back to me with this:
Hi Karl,

I've whitelisted the mod_security rule that seemed to be stopping this, can you try again please and let us know if you're still having trouble.

It still doesn't seem to have worked though. I have only tried it with Firefox so far, going to try it with chrome now.
No it's still not working in chrome either. Out of curiosity I pasted the pagelink code <a href="asfunction:_level10..." into a Wordpress install we have on the same server and it seems to work fine (obviously the link doesn't actually work but it saves and recognisis it as a link). What do you think?

Hi,

I still think something in the mod security is at play. When I tried to save 3 or 4 times, one after the other, my IP was blacklisted.

I'll check this out tonight when I get home but if that is still happening then it is definitely some security setting on the server as the data is being sent to the script correctly...

I appreciate the effort you are making with this. I'll get back on to the hosting guys and tell them that it didn't work and ask them if there is anything else they can try.
