Xerte Online Toolkits version 3.0 is out! It gives us a great pleasure to announce, on behalf of the fantastic people that are the Xerte project's community of developers, that the next version of the software, Xerte Online Toolkits v3.0, will be available for download from the Xerte Community website.
Following hot-on-the-heels of our recent news about Apereo, The Xerte Project has been accepted as an affiliate member of the Open Source Initiative.
"Xerte Project's Open Source Initiative membership furthers both organization's commitment to growing open source community and collaboration within institutions of higher education.
The Xerte Project has reached a very significant milestone, having graduated from the Apereo Incubation process to become a fully-fledged Apereo project.
In 2014 the developer team explored the question of sustainability, and after carefully weighing up all the options, the software was put forward and accepted for incubation by the Apereo Foundation in September 2014.
The Xerte Online Toolkits project is now in the final stages of incubation for the Apereo Foundation. As part of this process, the Xerte Team provided a webinar about the project.

As a result of the Jisc TechDis service closing the TechDis Sandpit will no longer exist.
The TechDis sandpit has played an important role in providing practitioners with the power to demonstrate potential and persuade IT teams to install toolkits on local servers.
