Interactivity > Decision Tree

This page can be used to create a branching scenario in which the learners are taken on a pathway (one of many possible pathways) through the activity, depending on their responses to questions at key points on the pathway. On some of the Steps in the pathway information is presented; at other Steps a multiple-choice or slider question is presented, which determines which Step the learner is taken to. Feedback on progress through the pathway can also be delivered.

It can therefore be used to create a kind of maze (with one target destination), or branching scenarios, for example to illustrate processes with several possible outcomes. To use this page type you need to plan all the possible pathways, with decision nodes, before working in Xerte. The demo below has links to two examples of plans for a Decision Tree activity; one an e-plan and the other produced with pen and paper.

You give each Step a Unique ID, and you create the links between these Steps using the ideas.
