Unable to upload images

Hmm scratch that... seems it can be empty and will use the system default, which I assume will be writable. Might be worth asking though to rule out...

Ok so i'm not giving up on this one...

Seems that you MUST set the upload_tmp_dir on Windows machines (which your server is)... bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=20851

So worth investigating...

/tmp directory has now been set. No change. Xerte still tells me files have been uploaded, bit nothing appears either in /tmp or in /media folders.

Let's take the flash stuff out of the picture: what happens when you upload via Media and Quota on the Project's Properties? Uploading that way avoids passing data across from the Flash movie (the editor) to the PHP stuff. It will help isolate the issue if you test using this method, because there is less in the way.

Actually, I'm thinking we ought to just take xerte out of the picture altogether: does anyone have a simple file browse upload script we can use to see whether you can actually upload media at all, or whether it is a xerte problem causing the trouble. John? It would be good to know if it is in fact possible to upload anything
