Xerte Conference 18 November 2026 was created by Jonathan Smith
Here’s a reminder that this year’s online Xerte Conference will be on Wednesday 18 November 2026.

This is an opportunity for you to;
  • talk about the different ways in which you have been using Xerte
  • compare your approach to working with Xerte with other users
  • hear about projects involving Xerte in other institutions
  • learn more about recent developments in Xerte, including the potential to deploy AI and non-AI assistants to create targeted content and save time
  • see the brand new (and optional) new user interface, user preferences and built-in guidance
  • network with Xerte users who share similar interests or work in similar contexts.
The conference will run from 9.30 to 16.30 UK time, and there will be a range of presentations and workshops for you to choose from. There is no fee to attend the conference.

Back in January we launched the first version of Xerte with AI-assisted options (3.15) , and later in the year we’ll be presenting a brand new more modern user interface which is also aimed at providing more support for authors.  If you’re already using the new AI features, the conference is an opportunity to share experiences. If you’re not yet using them, the conference will help you decide whether or not to take the plunge! Just to make it clear, 3.15 has new features unrelated to AI, and if you are an administrator, you can upgrade to 3.15 without having to make the AI features available to your users.

We will also ensure that AI does not totally dominate the conference! There has always been a wide range of themes at previous conferences. In 2024, for example , there were sessions on Xerte in relation to escape rooms, developing institutional templates, learning analytics, inclusive practices, virtual and augmented reality, and open educational resources.  The conference is an excellent opportunity to network with Xerte enthusiasts who share any specific interests you may have.

If you’d like to present, or lead a workshop, at the conference, submit your proposal here - you should hear from us within a week.  If you have any specific questions about the conference, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Looking forward to seeing you all in November!

Hi

You can now register for the Xerte Conference 2026, which will take place on 18 November 2026. We're very excited about this year's conference, as we'd like to get feedback from you on use of the  AI-enabled features included in Release 3.15, and on the new user interface we plan to introduce in the next few months.

The conference website has some information about the format and themes of the conference, and we will be posting information about the sessions and speakers over the next few weeks. To register, you can follow a link in the Registration section of the Welcome page.

It is not too late to submit a proposal for a presentation or workshop, and you can do this through the Call for Presenters section of the Welcome Page. The deadline for submissions is 5.00 pm on Friday 6 November.

Finally, if you have any questions about the Conference, please post them to this Topic in the Forum.  If you click on 'Quick Reply', there is an option to draft your message in a well-specified editor.

We look forward to seeing you in November!

We are just  two weeks away from the Xerte Conference 2026, 9.30 - 16.30 UK time on Wednesday 18 November.
  This is a great opportunity to learn about recent and upcoming developments in Xerte, and to network with people who may share your specific interests.  There is no fee to participate in the Conference.

To register, you can follow a link in the Registration section of the Welcome page on the Conference website. We’d suggest you register now, but registration will be open right up until Conference Day.

It is not too late to submit a proposal for a presentation or workshop, and you can do this through the Call for Presenters section of the Welcome Page. The deadline for submissions is 5.00 pm UK time on Friday 6 November.

We expect to publish a detailed programme some time 7 - 9 November (we'll post to this thread in the Forum when it is), but we can tell you now there will be sessions covering these themes, and more;
  • ·         The new user interface, which we expect to launch as an option in the next few months
  • ·         The Assistants and AI features included in Release 3.15
  • ·         What’s coming up in Release 3.16
  • ·         Using Xerte with an LRS, integration with other platforms, learning analytics
  • ·         The content creation process, applying a project management approach and AI
  • ·         Xerte used within a flipped learning approach
  • ·         Escape Rooms and XOT
  • ·         Using the Variables optional property to customise content
  • ·         Using Navigation, Sidebar and Chapters in LO design, to improve learner experience
  • ·         Learning Design, feedback from user experience research, a bespoke theme, and consistency in the use of CSS snippets.
We have sessions led by teachers, learning technologists and developers, so whatever your interest in Xerte, there will be something for everyone.  This is a new and exciting time for the Xerte Project, and by attending the Conference you can be part of it!
