Hi

I am relatively new to Xerte so apologies if these are FAQ's

I want to embed an ispring movie into a Xerte page the movie is created from an animated powerpoint slide. I am using the Free version of ispring

When I save in html5 format and import I just see a blank page

When I save in flash format and import the swf file it works just fine.

I understand there is a preference to avoid flash due to incompatibility/security issues . Can someone please advise i) how do I get the html5 version to load ii) what issues I may come across with flash

thanks in advance for your help

Paul

All

Just checking back on this , should I assume from the lack of responses that no-one has managed to load an html5 ispring movie into a Xerte LO ? I did see that this ispring import option had been converted to html5 but I haven't been able to find any guidance on the implementation.

Best Regards

Paul

This is very straightforward but iSpringfree compared with iSpring Pro is very limited e.g. with the free version when you publish you don't have control over the player (for instance no option to choose no player) or the output dimensions. (see example below)

Also the iSpring HTML 5 output is a single html page plus a data subdirectory so you can't upload this via the xerte editor or workspace, you need to get it online somewhere first e.g. FTP/dropbox etc so that you can grab the URL and use that in Xerte either as a simple link or using the embed content or new window pages. Here's a simple example showing the difference between iSpring Free output (page 1) and iSpring Pro output (page 2) mitchellmedia.co.uk/xot/play_155

Given what you've said in the offlist email you sent me I suspect the reason your attempt is showing a blank screen is local browser security settings. Put the same files online and it will probably work.

Thanks Ron I am sorting out the web uploading . One more quick question with your example (which was very nice by the way) how exactly did you set up your link from a Xerte page . Did you warp your url in some code to launch it in a frame or did you use the émbed content option

Paul
In this case no real need for any code just a url added to the embed content page.

Ron this is all working now just as I hoped thanks for your help again to get through this barrier. Great to know that our materials can now be multi-platform
