How can I hide the black stripes on the mp4s that are on the left and right?

I think the black stripes are the result of the video container having different dimensions to the video. If you've added the video as an embed (using iframe on a Plain Text page) you can make the dimensions (width and height) match in the iframe properties pop up (double click the iframe box). In Media Lesson page there's a Media Aspect Ratio property (from the Properties panel) you can add to choose from standard dimensions (4:3, 16:9 etc).
