Authentication is via DB. I can successfully log into Xerte and have been able to create objects linking out to images and videos elsewhere, but I can't upload media to the site.

/version.txt = 2.0 (svn r1028)

Yes, creating a new XOT project creates a new folder in /USER-FILES.

Thanks.

The "you don't have rights" suggests a session problem at work.

I have never seen a session problem on that page though - wondering if some whitespace has sneaked in somewhere?

You mean whilespace in filenames? File I'm using is called z.jpg so I don't think so. Video uploads don't work either.
If this is just a bug specific to our installation, we can workaround with embedding remote materials served from elsewhere.

Also, inside the newly created folder there should be a folder called media. It might be empty but it has to be there. If it is not, check whther there is a folder called media in the modules/xerte/parent_templates/Nottingham folder. If there si none, create one. Cretae a new project and check if that solves the issue.

John, others. We should create a README file in the parent_templstes/Nottingham/media folder. I've ssen issues where unzipping locally and then transfer all the files by ftp didn't create empty folders. I am not behind my PC, so cannot do that (easilly) before July 28.

Yes, media folders are being created, but they are empty.
New project does not resolve the issue.

Ok Tom, will do. Just to be sure - you mean each template media folder, for example \USER-FILES\1-guest2-Nottingham\media, after it is created, we programatically put a readme.txt file in there as a placeholder?

Or do you mean somewhere in the svn once, I can't seem to find that path?

John
