do images and sounds work (i.e. can you upload media OK?)

We use format factory too, and DivX is the default setting: changing it to H264 should work

Hi John
I've tried Chrome and IE. (Not allowed Firefox at our institution)
The page loads but the video player just shows black and clicking play just doesn't load it.

I'm wondering if this is an issue with converting from .flv to .mp4 (H264) - I've just downloaded a small test .mp4 file which is working OK

Version: 2.0 (svn r974)

Thanks
Vicky

Go into the project's properties, media and quota tab, and find the mp4 file. Click on it and get it's URL. Then post it here. Then I'll be able to get it and test it.

Hi Vicky,

Yes, do as Julian suggests if you can... I'm thinking that there are a few things this could be...

How big is the video? Is the mp4 definitely being uploaded - if it is listed in Media and Quota Tab then that will answer both questions...

If it is big/long then it may be that the moov is at the end of the file... i'm not sure where the software you use locates the moov but most based on ffmpeg stick it right at the end which means the video will not play progressively and will need to all download first - you might just not be waiting long enough...

Regards

John

Oh and if you are in Chrome and press F12 to open the developer tools and go to Console. Then press Shift-F5 to refresh page...

Do you see any console errors?
