Sounds like your mp4 is downloading and Chrome/Safari have to wait...

You need to have the Moov Ataom at the start of the file in order to play when enough has buffered...

Look for a "web optimised" or something option in Handbrake or use Miro...

Thanks John,

I'd tried all that, and it didn't work.
What I did in the end was take the mp4 from Handbrake, import into Screenflow and export as a web-optimised version from there. That worked...

Cheers,
Mark

Check the file path: Ensure that the file path for the video is correct and that the file is located in the correct directory. Double-check the spelling and capitalization of the file name and make sure that the file extension is correct (.mp4).

Check the video format: Ensure that the video is encoded in a format that is compatible with Xerte 2. HTML5 supports several video formats, including MP4, Ogg, and WebM. Ensure that the video file is encoded in one of these formats or able to open flv file mac.
