Still no success. Tried changing the names of both a video file (.flv) and a photo (jpeg) and still, neither page played when I clicked publish.

Do you think a reinstall of the plugin would work? If so, how can I save what I've already created? And when I upload a photo or video in Xerte where is that file stored?

re installing the plugin won't change anything.
But I can't think why it would upload some pictures but not upload others.

Size? Are the files that don't work larger than the ones that do work?

No. I checked that too. Just double checked and they're around 360x440 at 72dpi. Any other suggestions anyone? What is the online toolkit?

Because of my new-ness to this program, let me make clear what I'm doing in case anyone can find any obvious operator error.

To add a photo from my computer, I am performing the following steps:
I had no success using the Graphic and Sound option so instead I did Insert > media > advanced image
I added no Optional Properties
Then inputted my Page Title, Page Text, Aligned Text to the bottom,
Left image size on auto
Importing the .jpeg file from the folder on my computer
Typed in my Image Tooltip
then clicking the "publish" button
Some of the photos are 72dpi and the following sizes 360x440, 290x216, 291x173, 1152x864
Two of the photos are 150dpi and the following sizes 300x242, 300x250
All photos are .jpeg files

To add a .flv video from my computer, I am performing the following steps:
Insert > media > video
I added no Optional Properties
Then inputting my Page Title, Page Text, Aligning Text left,
Importing the .flv file from the folder on my computer
Leaving the Reset on Completion box checked
then clicking the "publish" button
My .flv file is 8.10 mb FLV video for Flash Player

Is my file sizes too big? What are the file size limits for photos and videos?
Anything else anyone notices that I may be doing wrong?

Add quizzes to the list of functions I'm unable to make work properly with this plugin. And I took the chance of deleting and re-installing the plugin. The good news was that I didn't lose what I'd already done but the bad news was that (jpeg) photos, (.flv) videos and quizzes still didn't function properly when I played or published.

Is anyone else having all of these problems? If not, it must be a setting or something on my laptop. I'm spending hours upon hours trying to make the most basic of functions work. Can anyone out there help me. If not, I'll just need to move on because I'm at a complete and total lost for answers.

The software is exactly what I need and has tremendous promise but so far has been utterly frustrating for me. I'm hoping there is a simple explanation and solution as I'm convinced Operator Error is still the culprit here.
