Tracking/xAPI > Results Page (3.13)

:!: The Results page type was radically redesigned for the 3.13 release, mainly to give greater customisation of the information displayed. If you are running 3.12 or earlier, go to the 3.12 version of this wiki page. In 3.13 you can also add Tailored Feedback, narrative feedback customised by the author, depending on the band into which the learner's score on the whole LO falls.

This page displays, to the learner, feedback on their performance in the Xerte Learning Object (LO). This information can include;

  • Results summary: the average score (on scorable pages), completion (opening pages), start time, duration (time spent with the Xerte LO open)
  • Page overview: scores on individual, scorable pages, duration on each page, weighting for that page, completion of each page
  • Interactivity results: learner response and correct answer for each individual interaction (e.g. each individual gap in a gap fill)

Different combinations of these three types of results are possible;

  • Results summary only
  • Results summary + Page overview
  • Results summary + Page overview + Interactivity results

and within each category, you can choose which statistics or responses to display.

The results can be downloaded by the learner, as a PDF. The labels (the text used to describe the different types of feedback) can be edited, as can the tooltips and some optional instructions.

Results Page: New Tailored Feedback

Here you can give tailored narrative feedback displayed according to a learner's score for the whole LO. Click on add New Tailored feedback… to start.

For each piece of tailored feedback you need to give a Title, the text (or other content you would like to have displayed), and the minimum and maximum percentages for the specific level of performance.

For example, if you want to give feedback at 3 levels of performance (strong, satisfactory, weak), you need to add 3 lots of tailored feedback and the minimum and maximum values might be 0-50%, 51-70% and 71-100%.

Further Information

For certain page types (e.g. Gap Fill) the data on the Results Page is not very usable as a means of analysing why responses are correct or incorrect. This is because most of the context round the responses is absent. For learners, a more effective way of analysing their own responses might be to screenshot the feedback on specific pages. Screenshots can be pasted into Word documents, either for uses in independent study, or as the basis for a reflective task.
