can you test again on the Techdis Sandpit with the same file you were trying to import previously and report back whether it now works or not? Logout and close all browser windows first if you are already logged in.

glad it works for you now.
I suspect at some point as the 2.1 code evolved there was a bug with importing (might have depended on the authentication method used) which must have been directly or indirectly fixed by newer code. So if you still have the same issue with your XAMPP install then download the latest 2.1 revision available via this site and try again. That said your issue with XAMPP may be different and as Tom suggested due to default PHP limits which need changing in your XAMPP install.

I've been able to upload most of my LOs, but I have a few that are 50 and 60 MB. You said:

First of all, you have to have control over the installation. For example. you won't be able to do this for the sandpit!

So, suppose you have a local install you have to find out where php.ini is stored. This is a text file. Then you need to change two entries, max_upload_size and max_file_size.

Could you let me know what kind of installation you're working with (XAMPP?), then I can give you more details.

I have a local XAAMP installation.
I've opened C:/XAAMP/PHP/php.ini and changed those two entries in the text file to:

; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
; php.net/upload-max-filesize
upload_max_filesize=200M

and


; Maximum number of files that can be uploaded via a single request
max_file_uploads=50

(please ee image attached, please to confirm I've done it in the right file)

I've saved that file, opened XAAMP and started XOT. I've tried to import a LO which exceeds the 8 MB limit, but I keep receiving an error message.

Should I do something else?

UPDATE:

I saw that the error message mentioned an 8M limit to the Post data, so I looked for that entry in the php.ini file and changed it to:

Maximum size of POST data that PHP will accept.
; Its value may be 0 to disable the limit. It is ignored if POST data reading
; is disabled through enable_post_data_reading.
; php.net/post-max-size
post_max_size=100M


And it works!
