Flexible gap fills

In a drag-and-drop gap fill, all the gaps are as wide as the widest content. This can lead to over-wide gaps, as in this bibliographical referencing exercise:





Would it be possible to have narrower gaps initially, which then expand to fit the text that is dragged into them?

This is the sort of gap fill behaviour I would like, if possible:

Also, sometimes you may actually want the width of the gaps to reflect the length of the answer.

In c-tests the second half of every other word is replaced with a gap, so ideally in is shown as i_ while internationalism is shown as internat________.

Hello, just wanted to let you know that this feature has been developed and in the next version there will be additional options on the gap fill page that allow you to customise the gap widths. The default will still be for all gaps to be the width of the longest label's text but it will be possible to have a smaller gap or have gaps that represent the correct answer width.
