Let’s talk about AI. It’s a topic that’s become difficult to ignore in education as it’s use has become so widespread. Soon the next version of Xerte, the widely used open source tool for creating interactive learning resources, is introducing AI-powered functionality. This exciting development aims to help educators design online learning content more efficiently, without compromising quality or creativity.
For many the new academic year begins soon, and now is the perfect time to revisit your Xerte toolkit and explore fresh ways to enhance your digital learning content. Whether you're updating existing learning objects or planning new ones, Xerte offers a flexible and accessible platform to support your teaching goals.

Xerte vulnerabilities – fixes available in v3.14.2 and v3.13.9We are sending this important message to registered users with Xerte installations as notification of recent releases of versions 3.14.2 and 3.13.9. These latest releases and revisions fix some potential vulnarabilities. We therefore recommend that you upgrade your installations (regardless of current version or revision) to at least 3.13.9 (although preferably 3.14.2) as a matter of urgency.

For many, the academic year winds down and summer holidays approach, and many educational technology developers find themselves with a rare commodity: time. Whether you're a seasoned Xerte veteran or relatively new to creating interactive learning objects, the summer months can present an ideal opportunity to enhance your skills and prepare for the year ahead.

As Xerte users from the Netherlands and Flanders, we know how to find each other. Knowledge and experience are exchanged throughout the year via Xerte Talks, the Xerte-forum, Xerte GitHub, the Xerte key-users group and the Xerte dialoog. And once a year we try to get together at a mini conference, where existing and new or curious users are very welcome.
