Xerte En-GB language issue

I have installed Xerte on AWS on a Linux setup with apache, php and mariadb. The installation works without issue, but when I load the main page, there is no option to select the language. In the management interface, no languages are installed. I also cannot make any changes under site in the management.php. I can make the change but it does not save.

Can you give me any hints and also can you indicate what the recommended permissions for linux should be for xerte on both directories and files.

Is this a new install, or an install that has been updated at some point in time? If you cannot save changes in management.php, normally the database schema is out of date.

Please try to run upgrade.php: https(s)/<xerte url>/upgrade.php

Normally, I change the owner of the whole file structure to the user that is running apache.

Thanks for the reply Tom. I have already completed the upgrade process successfully. I have the permissions set for the user that runs apache.

I'm not thinking it might be a missing php extension. Do you have a list of the required php extensions?

Found the issue, was missing php-xml extension. It would be helpful if a list of the php extensions required was in the installation documentation.
