Install on home PC?

I am interested in xerte and wanted to know if I can trial the contents. Also wanted to know if I can export my moodle based work onto this programme

Install xampp, and then follow the instructions for a local xampp install. Dead ueasy tosetup on a PC or laptop, though soe functionality is disabled in this mode.

You should be able to export any xerte learning objects created on other installs and import them inot the local setup, yes.

Your PHP does not seem to have MySQL support

Please see PHP's own guide for more details. Xampp installs should come with MySQL installed. Different versions of PHP however may or may not have MySQL installed by default. If on the PHP Info page you can find a section headed "MySQL", then you should find it is installed.

All of the above can come from a single WAMP or LAMP installation, such as those available as part of XAMPP Project

It looks like you didn't start MySQL in XAMPP. Make sure both MySQL and Apache are running,
