Using SCORM Footprints to mark pages as complete a été créé par mru@p-didakt.com
Hi Xerte Community,

I'm trying to figure out how to display with pages have been completed by learners (for orientation purposes for the learner only, as the course I am working on is quite long). I don't want to send this information to a LMS or report it in any ways afterwards - it should stay inside the course. The information could be visually displayed in the pop up menu using a linear navigation or in a menu connector page.

I can think of two ways to do that:
- Using SCORM footprints (big advantage: it would not be dependent on the session)
- Using a runtime session cookie (but it will be lost everytime the user closes the window / clears browser cache in this case)

Has anybody done this before? Is there a standard way to do this in Xerte?

Best regards

The standard menu already does this for you, and I believe that the next release of Xerte will also do it for the menu connector page

Hi
just to quickly add to this a couple of comments:

1. The ticks for the menu connector page are in our latest developer code and will be part of the next release but is not in 3.6.
2. Neither the TOC ticks or the Menu Connector Ticks will remain after a refresh or upon revisiting the LO and I think you were asking about or requiring something that persists upon refresh or revisit? If so that isn't a feature that is built-in currently.

Hi Ron,

That's right, I would like to store the information on completed sections (which is actually the information on the completion of the final page for each session) over multiple sessions and to keep track on completed sessions upon resuming the module.

As a workaround, I will break down the content in smaller SCORM modules for each section and display completion information on each section in the LMS.

Best regards,

Margot
