Unable to share/view Learning Object

Hello - I'm brand new to Xerte and currently testing it before we open up access to all staff. I've created a few projects, exported a deployment zip and successfully uploaded to Blackboard, but I'm having problems with using links to share the LO. I've made the project public, I have a link 'to allow other people to access this file' but when I share it I get one of two errors - 'the page can't be displayed' or 'the learning object has not been made available'. I'm sure I'm missing something, but from the instructions I've downloaded I can't see what. Any help would be very much appreciated.

When you make a LO public, you allow other people to access the content you're working on.

When you share an LO you allow other people to edit the LO you are working on. They will see it when they log in to toolkits.

Thank you...I thought that sharing the link would enable users to view the LO? In the instructions, in the Properties and Sharing section (which says about changing the properties of the file so that others can view it) it states 'we can see ...a link and embed code to share our LO...' and that changing the properties means anyone else will be able to view it. Is that not the case? If not, I cant find any other mention of how to allow others to view content?

Making the LO public will allow others to see the published content on the URL displayed on the 'Project' tab. It sounds like this is what you want to do?

The sharing tab is for you to share the LO with other authors, if you want to collaborate in the production of content.

Thanks Julian - we are using the Project tab, but it seems that on our installation Xerte is saving the project locally so others aren't able to view the content. Look like we need to go back to our software team.

You are running xerte on xampp? And getting URLS to localhost?
