Unable to upload images

I'm working on a new Xerte installation, 2.0.
Tried lots of different browsers, can't upload/insert images.
Xerte gives the error: "Upload Failed: HTTPError"
Any suggestions of how to fix this?

Can you upload anything? Sounds? Video?
Rights on the USER-DATA folder?
php.ini settings?

You had an install working, right? So this is a new one - on a different server?

Can you try uploading a really small image... does that work?

This could be related to how much memory is allocated to Apache/PHP where the whole file needs to be loaded into Ram before being written to disk...

Can you upload from the Media and Quota tab in the Properties for the Learning Object in the Workspace? And do any of your attempts at uploading appear there?

How small is small? I can't upload a 45k JPEG.

Media and Quota tab in the Properties for the Learning Object says "Sorry you do not have rights to this template".

45k is definitely small enough... i suspect a database or sessions problem because of that error on Media and Quota tab

Not near a computer just now but will look into it tonight.

Ok lets get to the bottom of this...

What authentication are you using and what does your /version.txt file in the root read?

Next thing to try - can you see the contents of the /USER-FILES folder in the root? If you look there you should see a number of folders that have been created when you have created a new project. The should be of the format number-username-template so for example if you are using guest auth you might see a folder 1-guest2-Nottingham. Take note of the max number.

Now go back to the workspace and refresh the browser and login again if required. Then create a new XOT project - give it a recognisable name. Did the edit window open? Close it and check that the project is listed in the workspace window. Whilst there, under the 3 "Create a new Project" templates on the right, do you see "Logged in as YOURNAME". Don't worry if you don't see anything and you are using Guest auth as it doesn't show in that mode...

Now check the /USER-FILES folder again. Has a new one been created?

Right try that and let me know how you get on and we can then deduce whether it's the file system or the database that is the issue.
