So the video is definitely being uploaded and appears in the correct folder and under 'Media and quota' tab in Properties?

Yes, it is under 'Media and quota'. The preview also works.

Hmm.. what browser are you using? Any console errors appearing? Can you try one of the other browsers to rule out ajax errors?

Problem solved! Thanks to Tom Reijnders.
I made some changes in the php.ini - file (memory_limit, max_upload, ...)
