Can't save any changes

When I open a project to edit it and then press the "Play" or the "Publish" button, an error message is displayed (see picture attached to this message).
Following the instructions given in the error message doesn't solve the problem.
I have tried this in several browsers (FireFox, Brave, Thorium).
I have also tried it with the browser history completely cleared.
The error message still pops up.
Any advice on how to solve this is much appreciated.
My server configuration:
Debian 12, Apache 2.4.62, php 8.3, mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.11.6-MariaDB

This is most likely caused by an error on the server side. Possibly by PHP 8.3. Could you please set $development to true around line 43 in config.php and than have a look in the Apache error log?

That was sound advice.
It helped me identify the cause of the problem.
It is not caused by a bug. I use the mod-security module with Apache. That module prohibited Xerte to work correctly.
