It is no longer possible to use images

Dear all,

The version we're using is 3.4 (git v3.4.1-2-gb9e3c38) running on Debian 9 with Apache2 2.4.10, MySQL server 5.5, php5 5.6.30.
We have about 338 images in our project.
We can add new images to the project (i.e. upload it to the server in XOT) but when we hit the play button we no longer get a preview of what we have made but instead a small windows pops up with the message "Error".
When we delete an existing image on the server we can upload and use a new image. So it seems as if there is a limit on the number of images that can be used within a project.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to tackle this problem?

As far as I know there is no limit in Xerte itself.

Do you have errors in the php log?

I couldn't find any errors in the php log except the errors generated by users trying to upload images with a size of 8 MB (the default limit that is configured on this server) and more.
What is very strange is that after the users created a new project the error didn't occur any longer in the old project where the error was first noticed. When the error occurred for the first time there were 338 images in the project. Now there are 341 and everything works as expected.

I have now updated the Xerte installation to 3.5. I guess I have to wait now whether the error will return. If it does I will start php in debug mode to have more detailed error logs.
