Guys,

I inserted a Media>Video screen on my projet, uploaded the mp4 video to media server, but when I select the video and try to view it, It can´t be played. On the project, some videos keep loading forever, others simply don´t start, like the image attached below).

Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Hi
what do you mean "uploaded the mp4 video to media server"? Do you just mean uploaded the mp4 direct to Xerte or to a separate media server?
If direct to Xerte make sure the mp4 is h.264 encoded.
Is your server Linux or Windows? If Windows you might need to check mimetypes shouldn't need to on Linux.
Check server logs or use the browser console to inspect what's happening.
Ideally you should upload video to a streaming server and embed from there anyway e.g. YouTube/Vimeo/Internal.
If you need further help share a link to an example that isn't working.

Hi, Ron!

I uploaded the media directly to Xerte using the "import media" button.
How can I check if the mp4 is h.264 encoded?
My server is Windows.
What are mime types?
I´m having my first experience with this tool and I´m not very used to "server and media matters" yet. :-)

I´ve been thinking about using Youtube so far, but this project is for corporate use, so, I got to solve some issues before.

Thanks for your help!

Try the .mp4 that you can download from the top of this list download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/

Upload that to a test Xerte project and see if it plays. If it doesn't it's likely to be a mimetype issue on your server and you'll need to speak to whoever looks after your server.
If it does play try re-exporting or converting your files that don't work - whatever tool you use should give you encoding options etc.

Thanks!

I tested it in Moodle in another computer and It worked. Maybe it´s something in my PC... no idea what it might be...
But, when selected full screen mode, the browser (firefox) crashed... :-(
Guess I´ll try the Youtube option.... lol

That crashing on full screen option was an identified bug which has been fixed in more recent revisions. You'll need to update your install to fix that. But yes streaming services will be better anyway.
