I can't log into my Xerte online toolkits account

Hello, please help with this.
I've downloaded and installed the XAMPP file and the authentication process was complete and this is the URL I have: localhost/xertetoolkits_3.12/ so it seems to be working until that point. However, when I log in with my username and password nothing happens. The page doesn't even nudge. the username and password spaces simply go blank again. I thought maybe I typed something wrong but I don't know what seems to be the problem.
I previously got an email with my account details and it works on the Xerte community site (from where I'm writing this message inside the Community forums page. I don't know who to contact or what to do about this. It's very frustrating because I don't think the installation went wrong, yet I can never log into the xertetoolkits page.
Please let me know if I am missing something or what to do, thank you so much.

Okay so I think I managed to get into my Xerte online toolkits account by adding an authorized user. Is that correct? I'm scared I won't be able to log in again later. Please let me know your thoughts on this, thanks in advance, sorry for any inconveniences

The account you have on the forums on this site is completely separate from any account you create in a local Xerte installation. If what you have done is installed xampp and then installed Xerte then you will have been prompted to create an admin account. You then have to use the management page to create a user account. If you’ve created an account via management and can then login via the standard rather than management login then there is no reason why you won’t be able to login again later with those same details.

Thank you! Yes, that's what I ended up doing. I figured that the account from this site is not the same for that one, but I still had doubts about the entire process. I created a user and it's working thus far. Thanks again!
