Hope this is the right place to post. I was wondering if there was wondering if there was a way of 'passwording' pages in a Xerte LO. Or, in other words, creating a 'lock' with a numerical or textual password/code to access it.
If not, please could the feature be put onto the wishlist?
I've been experimenting with gamifying learning and would like to reveal the next level with a password (escape room-style) but cannot seem to create a 'lock' in Xerte.
For example, I think a lock could be created using the 'Dialogue' or 'Answer X of Y' templates with 1 question requesting code, if feedback could be disabled until the correct word/code was typed into the answer box, then the feedback box could contain a 'Password Correct' message and a link to progress to the next level.
If anyone could suggest how to add this with a bit of code, I would be very happy!

Hi,

I'm working on an example escaperoom also and will try out some things. For example using variables and/or the adaptive content page. Do you already create some examples for gamifying/escaproom learning objects? If so I love to see them :)
Or maybe we can have a short meeting to discuss some possibilities? If you want to this is my email info @ dlearning.nl

Thanks Inge, hope to have a chat soon.
In the meantime, I found an interesting oer project in Singapore where a developer at Zenia: Loo Kang Wee created a numerical lock simulator:
//iwant2study.org/lookangejss/00workshop/2019twa/ejss_model_LockAndKey/LockAndKey_Simulation.xhtml
To set the lock:
//ejss-browser-editor.herokuapp.com/
Source:
//iwant2study.org/ospsg/index.php/917
Would this be useful? I apologise for my complete lack of skills in being able to use this myself, but was wondering if it would be possible to do this in an existing Xerte template or if it would need a new one.
Thanks again
Helen G.

Oh... and maybe something like this could be done with the gap fill page with the dropdown menu and and an image with a lock on the background?
