When I create a new "Xerte Online Toolkit" from templates, it is blank. There are no tools, page options, etc.. When I preview the project, a blank window is displayed, stating "The project data has not loaded.".

I am running on an Apache2 Debian Server, with all extensions required present. Xerte v2 runs great with no issues.

Permissions for USER-DATA etc is Root & WWW-DATA, read, write, executing, Other users, read access.

Tried MySQL user as Root & Xerte (both work for install). All other install prompts look good.

I have tried to install many times. Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks,

Steve

Are there any relevant messages in your Apache (or PHP) error logs?

Thanks for your assistance. I had looked in the logs previously, but couldnt see the wood for the trees!

Here is the issue:
[Fri Aug 21 08:52:53 2015] [alert] [client 19..........] /var/www/xerte/USER-FILES/.htaccess: Options not allowed here, referer: http://????????.com/xerte/preview.php?template_id=1

The .htaccess file is generated during install to "close a potential security flaw". I removed this file and..hey presto! My templates are now populated.

Thanks for the pointer John.

Many Kind Regards.

Curious. I don't get any complaints about the options setting on my (CentOS) server. It might be though because I have disabled indexing globally on the web site.

I would be wary of deleting the htaccess file completely since it does contain a security measure in it. If the options command is a problem then I would comment that out, but leave in the filesmatch bit.
