xerte installion - integration with Moodle issues was created by Technical Services
I am trying to install xertetoolkits and integrate with Moodle for authentication however keep experiencing issues such as a blank screen. I can't seem to find clear step by step instructions on the process online. Can anyone please direct me to the correct setup. Our Moodle is 2.6 and is running on a windows server 2008R2, Apache 2.2.25, PHP 5.4.26, and MySQL 5.6.16. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jayne

The guidance is in the documentation folder inside the XOT download.
Did you get the installation working and tested with the default guest authentication first? Do that and then configure the Moodle integration. Ideally install Xerte inside the Moodle directory so that you get seamless redirection upon login.

Hi Ron thank you for directing me to the documentation folder taht was very helpful and informative. I have completely reinstalled inside my moodle directory - tested and all was working as a guest user. I then followed the instructions and when I try and access the xerte install it makes me sign in through moodle however when I sign in all i get is a blank page. Can i also verify that I have to copy the files from the Moodle patch folder in order to get the intergration_library.php etc.

Thanks

Sorry offline now apart from phone access so just a quick reply for now...

No the separate Moodle patch is old and long since outdated. The Moodle integration is built in to the core code so undo any files you replaced from the old Moodle patch and just change auth_config to use Moodle rather than guest, leap or any of the other built in authentication options. Be sure to put the correct path to your Moodle config.php via the xerte management page or direct in the database.

HI Ron thanks so much - that worked as in I can now access the xerte from Moodle and it authenticates as the moodle user. The only problem is that I cannot logout and it just hangs when I click logout. Have you any idea on what this may be?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jayne
no sorry I'm not sure why that is. What version of Xerte Online Toolkits have you downloaded and installed and from where exactly?
What should happen when you click logout with moodle authentication enabled is that you get logged out and taken to the moodle login screen e.g. //yourmoodleaddress/login/index.php
I know it's possible to have a custom login page for moodle do you have that perhaps?
If login and creating projects is working then I would have thought the logout feature would too.
