This was caused by the databse name: cl36-xerte21. There is a dash in there, and that only works if the name is enclosed in backticks ( ` ).

Will need to verify if the latest code can handle this.

Hi, I'm new to Xerte, and everything seems to be fine until I have this error,

Sorry, the attempt to create the database to the database has failed. MySQL reports the following error -

1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'database' at line 1
Creating MySQL Database Failed!

Can you help?

Cheers

Matt

If the error is exact the same as the error reported here:

www.xerte.org.uk/index.php?option=com_ku...mid=207&lang=en#2642

Then you have named your database 'database', which happens to be a reserved word in MySQL. Can you please confirm that?
