I thought this was fixed, but a test indeed shows that it was not.

Could you please try the two files in the attached zip file. That should do it. These need to be placed in the setup folder.

Dear Tom

Yes: this worked. The server I am using adds an extension to the database name which contains a hyphen -

The new files (page2.php and basic.sql) which you sent allowed the setup to go ahead

Your help is much appreciated.

Perhaps the files can be attached to a new topic entitled something like "fix for xerte installation error caused by database name containing a hyphen character" for ease of others finding this
