Hi,
We've just upgraded our test installation to version 3.4. The maintenance of Xerte is now being undertaken by a different team to the person who previously maintained Xerte for us.

However, I can login, access my files and can create a learning object, but when I go to populate it, I'm not seeing any page types or anything (see attached image)

Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening and how we can remedy this?

Kind regards

Helen

Hi Helen

I would guess that there's either a problem with the contents of the project folder that's being created in USER-FILES or there's an issue with the xwd file that tells the editor what fields to display.

If you edit a project that was made before the upgrade does the editor work as expected?

When viewing the editor, press F12 - are you getting any errors?

Thanks
Fay

Hi Fay,

Thanks for the prompt reply. When I edit one of my previous Learning objects, I can see the page templates. However, anything I try to edit that has been created since the upgrade is showing up as blank, as per the screenshot in my original post.

I can't see any errors using F12 though - should I be looking for something in particular?

Helen

Errors would show up in the console tab - probably in red so pretty obvious.

As you can edit older projects then it'll be a problem with new folders or files being made in the USER-FILES folder. Possibly permissions in here stopping the xml files being created? Tom or Ron will hopefully be able to give you more advice shortly

As Fay suggests this sounds like permissions in USER-FILES
Get whoever looks after your installation to check that the folder and files are being created. Sounds like the database entries are being created so you see the project in your workspace but it doesn't have the relevant folder or files.
