Hi all

Quick query, would anyone not recommend doing the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4 in one step. Lot more work to do the > 3.1 > 3.2 etc (but will do if ppl think that the one step upgrade is unsafe).

Thanks
Roger

That should be fine.

But please do not forget to run upgrade.php by just visiting the link
http://<xerte install>/upgrade.php

Also, you might need to setup any logos you have on the website. See the README file in the /branding folder for more information.

We did an upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4 (with the 3.4 updates zip file as well) last Friday. It had no problems at all :-)

finally got to this.

I picked up a couple of things that didn't work
1) Dropping our modified Ldap.php back into the folder after the upgrade resulted in login page not rendering. I therefore modified the ldap.php released with the 3.4 zip (The OOTB ldap.php incorrectly calls in the 1st name for the user (our ldap has "preferedname" not "givenname"))
2) Also dropping the pre-grade auth_config.php file could not be dropped in after the upgrade. I need to use the OOTB and modify to set Ldap rather than guest

Please set the authentication to Ldap in the management page and revert back to the 3.4 version of auth_config.php

It will make future updates a bit easier, as you do not need to set the proper authentication method again, as it is stored in the db.
