Just for anyone else reading this was it perhaps that your original zip download was the 3.1 update not the 3.1 full?

I think sometimes it's easy to miss the difference e.g. if you aren't already on that particular version then you need the full release even though you are upgrading an early version. For instance if anyone reading this has 2.1 you can upgrade direct to 3.1 but you need the full 3.1 download not just the 3.1 update download. Sometimes they are identical e.g. on first release but after that the update doesn't include all files.

Hi Ron,
I'm fairly sure it was the full download because I had issues with the upgrade from 2 to 3 and someone (it may have been you) advised me to check that I had the full download file and pointed out the differences.
cheers
Greg

It's definitely a strange one but as I said (either here or on the email list) I had a similar strange error when I updated and it turned out that I had missing files in either /library or /plugins... when I went back to the original downloaded zip to check, the files were definitely there but for some reason didn't copy...

Glad it's all sorted out now though!!

John

Hi John,
I found the original zip file and, sure enough, the files are in there!
I'll put this one down to the Linux pixies and move on.
Thanks
Greg
