Hi Everyone,

I am currently working on a project where I am building interactive learning materials using Xerte. I know Xerte is great for creating accessible resources but I want to make sure I am following best practices to ensure all learners, especially those with disabilities, can fully engage with the content.

Does anyone have recommendations or guidelines on how to make Xerte projects as accessible as possible: ?? I am particularly interested in:

How to effectively use alternative text for images ??
Ensuring proper keyboard navigation.
Tips for making audio and video content accessible (e.g., captions, transcripts).
Testing tools to check accessibility within Xerte.

If anyone has experience or tips to share, I would love to hear from you !! Also, if there are specific resources or tutorials on this that you have found helpful, please feel free to share.

Thanks in advance for your insights !!

With Regards,
Steve Smith

Hi
a quick reply and some links...
You'll find some recorded conference sessions via xerte.org.uk/index.php/en/news/blog/158-videos some of which cover accessibility
also via xot.xerte.org.uk/play_80#page4 and xot.xerte.org.uk/play_450#programme
We've covered lots of this throughout many of the Future Teacher webinars and resources xot.futureteacher.eu/play.php?template_id=4#home
and finally there are linked resources from our accessibility statement which by default is also linked when you create a Xerte resource xot.xerte.org.uk/play.php?template_id=214#guidance
