I am very new at this. Can these learning objects that are created be used offline? In blended learning programs, the students have laptops or tablets that they can take home, but some do not have internet at home. I would like to create learning objects that can be used at home without internet.

I simply don't know enough to know how this all works. If Xerte cannot be used offline, do you know of other programs that can? Any information you can give me about how it works would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Betsy,

Sorry it's taken so long to get a reply to you.

Yes, you can create the Learning Objects using Xerte Online Toolkits and then export them for use offline. Obviously some pages (rss feeds, youtube, embedded websites, etc) won't work if offline but the majority will. You export by selecting the LO in the Workspace and clicking on the Properties button. Select the Export tab in the popup window...
