Hi,

I'm a brand new Xerte user, although I have used other elearning software before (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, etc.). I'm trying to figure out things in Xerte Online Toolkit X. How open are you all to 'newbie' questions? :)

Mainly I want to find out how I can do certain things (nothing outrageous) using XOT. E.g., first questions:
Is it possible to remove the 'feedback' response in a MCQ?

Thanks, Andrew

Hi
Not quite sure why you would want to do that and I may be misunderstanding your question but if you don’t want feedback to show for one of the mc answers just empty the feedback box for that option. You can also toggle the language options and clear the feedback label.

Hi Ron,
Thank you, I didn't see the Language Options and making some alterations there will work. The effect I want is that the learners won't know if they answered correctly or not until the results page (as an assessment).

Another question: it is possible to auto-advance after the 'check' box has been clicked? (I'm not a programmer but I know some basics and can follow if shown how.)

Thank you,
Andrew

Hi Andrew
advancing on check is not a built-in function but you could potentially add an optional script property to the page and write a js/jquery function to do that.
Sorry I'm busy with other things right now to work out a solution.

Thanks for the answer, Ron. This is not an urgent matter, so please don't use your valuable time on it. I don't expect you to solve my problems :) just trying to learn how to make Xerte work.

Hi Andrew

If you add the 'Script' optional property to your MCQ page you can use this code to move on to the next page after the check button is pressed. I've only tried this on the MCQ page but similar code should work elsewhere, you'll just have to change the id for the button if it's not 'checkBtn'.
$('#checkBtn').click(function() {
  $x_nextBtn.click();
});
