Hello all

Just one more!

I understand that the Documentation download does not work with SCORM, but on our install of v3.5 it's not working with hyperlinked or embedded projects either. It creates a blank document called file.doc.

I'm guessing that this is an issue with our installation? Any advice that I could pass on to our web team would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Candace

Hi
we've made some changes to the documentation page so that it will still work when exported as long as where it is placed still has access to your Xerte installation but I don't think that is included in any of the 3.5 code so will be in the next release.

It should however work when played or embedded from your installation and should not be an empty document. Can you provide a link to an example where it isn't working?

Hi Ron

Thanks for your reply. Here is the project: apps-test.dur.ac.uk/xerte/play.php?template_id=109

The page is called 'Documentation'. (I've made sure that the 'Exclude From' optional property isn't included on any of the items.)

Thanks

Candace

Hi Candace
I can see that you get a blank doc with your example but I'm not sure why.
Can you try creating a new test LO with just a documentation page and test if that works?

Also can you check what revision of 3.5 you are using and report back.

The documentation page certainly works in all the 3.5 installations that I look after.

Hi Ron

I've created a new learning object with just a Documentation page here: apps-test.dur.ac.uk/xerte/play.php?template_id=148

I'm afraid I don't know where to find which revision we're using, but I know the latest version was installed in February 2017 if that's any help? (Note that this is on our test server and we will be upgrading to the newest version on our live server in the next couple weeks.)

Thanks!

Candace

Hi Candace
normally you can view /version.txt to check the version but that seems to be missing from your test installation. However 3.5 was only released in July so I'm unclear what version you are using if it was last updated in February.

There have been a few patches over time too so it may be that when your installation is upgraded the issue with the documentation page is resolved. It certainly works on all the installations I look after.
