XOT and LTI? was created by olihaslam
Hi

I’m investigating how best to use XOT and Blackboard together.

Does XOT work with LTI links in Blackboard? If so what would be the benefit/experience for staff and students of using LTI?

Thanks

Oli,

You get to Embed Xerte Content into Blackboard. That's the benefit.
As for knowing if it's supported in Blackboard you'd have to check the Blackboard docks to see if they support LTI. I've personally never used it before.

Hi Barco

Thanks for your reply. I can already embed Xerte content in Blackboard - using the embed code supplied with each LO. So I'm still not sure what difference using LTI might bring, if any.

I think it may come down mostly to the ability to marks & view info like you'd have in a traditional Scorm package.

But it's my guess. You'd have to test it out to see if I'm right. Embedding gets the content there without more integration.

Hi,

I know that this is an old post but if you want Scorm interaction between the LO and Blackboard then all you have to do is Export a Scorm package from the Properties popup and them import it into Blackboard as a Scorm Package. Then (assuming you have enabled tracking etc in the LO before exporting) it will track scores and completion etc.

You don't even need to enable tracking etc. As soon as you export as a scorm package, the default tracking mode will be full tracking on first pass.
