Hi, first post here.
I am in the process of creating a 360 tour of a building. I have taken many 360 images and I am using hotspots to navigate. At present I have to use "navigate to scene" as this allows me choose "initial view" which in turn enables me to maintain the illusion of coherently moving through the space. This, however leads to a few issues. The tour always starts at the entrance (first scene) and In order to enable users to instantly navigate to other scenes I have enabled the drop down menu. This is becoming unwieldy as I have over 50 scenes.
I could break the tour down into sections, ie. by corridor, and create new pages with collections of scenes or indeed create separate Xertes for each 360 image and use a hotspot to link to page or link to Xerte/url. Unfortunately I am unable to find a way to influence the orientation/view in the new 360 environment relative to the previous page/xerte (essentially there is no "choose initial view" function.) As a result I can end up navigating to a new 360 and end up facing back the way I came. This is very confusing for a user particularly if they are not familiar with the building. I can't set a default view for most of the 360 images as they are often navigable form 2 or more other 360 spaces.
Is it possible to determine the initial view relative to the previous page or Xerte, in the same way you can when navigating to scene?
On thinking about it (a lot) I wondered if it might be possible to code some kind of a meta marker to a hotspot in one Xerte and add some code that says: if marker "a" then orient x,y,z in the proceeding Xerte. I am not a coder so please excuse my ignorance if this is not quite how things work.
Any thoughts and advice welcome.
Cheers,
Tom.
