Sorry, yes, it was the .htaccess code you suggested that did the trick.

Thanks, you may want to remove the upload.php file that I supplied you with and replace it with the one from that actual install as I added some extra code to debug which 'could' (although unlikely) give something away about your system and compromise it.

If you don't have the original then I can supply it again... just let me know.

I had exactly the same problem with SiteGround and have now solved it by pasting your code into the .htaccess file in the main xerte directory.

Many thanks!

I'm having the exactly the same symptom as AJ trying to upload mp4 in Firefox and IE (seems to work fine in Chrome)

The folder (with nested media folder) is created in USER_FILES is there with correct permission

When I add the .htacces as suggested in this topic when selecting "Edit" I get a 404 page not found error:

The URL of Edit call change depending on if .htaccess = true or false
.htaccess = false => URL xerte.xxx.ac.za/edit.php?template_id=3
.htaccess = true => xerte.xxx.ac.za/edit_3 (results in page not found error)

Deployment details: xerte V2.1; https; Ldap login; self hosted

Any ideas?

Hi Roger,

Sorry no one got back to you before now about this, we've been working frantically on getting the new v3 release ready, which incidentally will be available tomorrow, here in Resources. I would recommend upgrading to that as soon as you can as there were a few problems in various browsers with the v2.1 and below version due to it using Flash. It should fix any issues that you have.

John
