Recently I have moved our Xerte installation from one server to another and gave it an upgrade to the latest version. I did run the upgrade script.
Now my users can't see their projects anymore. It stil works for our student. The can use it via the play.php.
Ownership of the files should be ok for apache.
Anyone that can give me a hint what is going wrong or where I should look further?

Hi
when you say you moved your installation what steps exactly did you take and what's different if anything between the previous and new server?
What authentication method are you using?
If the server spec has changed you will need to verify that all the serevr requirements are in place xot.xerte.org.uk/play.php?template_id=81#systemrequirements
Typically to move an installation from one server to another you need to back up and move both the database and the entire xerte directory.
If the site address will have changed and/or the location of the directory and files then you may need to change those details in the database.
If the authentication method has changed you'll need to make sure that users are logging in with the same username as they used previously.
The upgrade script is required to update the database for a working install it will not account for changes of location to a different server.

Ron,
Thank you for your reply and help already.

Hi
when you say you moved your installation what steps exactly did you take and what's different if anything between the previous and new server?
Debian server instead of Centos. Path is exactly the same.
I've copied al the files and directories to the new server. Chowned to the right user and group.
Then I renamed database.php and let the setup run to see what I was missing. Then set the database file back.
I've downloaded the zip files for the new version and copied all the files over the existing ones.
I've taken over the entries in Static.php in the new installation.
Upgrade.php has run for the upgrade of the database afterwards.

What authentication method are you using?
Static, just like before. Al the users in the Static.php file.

If the server spec has changed you will need to verify that all the serevr requirements are in place xot.xerte.org.uk/play.php?template_id=81#systemrequirements
All done.

Typically to move an installation from one server to another you need to back up and move both the database and the entire xerte directory.

Sorry it's not clear - did you backup and then restore the database from your previous installation/server?
If you just renamed database.php it will have tried to re-run setup so that isn't correct. If that succeeded it probably created a new database.
You have to backup and restore the original database and then edit the relevant db fields if needed.

It seems that this should have worked, so I suspect (like Ron) it has to do with php extensions.

Could you please try to set $development to true on line 43 of config.php. After retrying to login again, could you check the apache error log for any errors?

Thank you Tom en Ron.
It seems I'm missing some tables in the database.
Table 'toolkits_data.folderrights' doesn't exist
Table 'toolkits_data.folder_group_rights' doesn't exist
Is there an easy way to create this and fill it up with the right data?
