Hi All,
Has anyone experienced Xerte just point blank refusing to export finished teaching material to any format. Quite simply nothing happens when you clock the button. It was worked in the past, but not this year. All suggestions for workaround much appreciated. (Was using Google Chrome Version 98.0.4758.109 on a Mac, but it failed for my colleague in Edge on a Mac as well). Many thanks!
Liz

Can you ask the person who maintains your Xerte Installation to install and enable the php-zip extension? Does that solve the issue?

I presume this means that it is not a widespread problem across multiple centres, which is reassuring.

Hi
the various exports work just fine in all recent and current versions of Xerte.
Also you mention that your exports worked previously but not now and that suggests something has changed with your server and/or installation. Either way and as Tom has suggested, whoever looks after your installation needs to investigate and resolve the issue.

Quick question: our team say they aren't very familiar with Xerte. Are there clear instructions how to do this installation and enabling of the php-zip extension anywhere that I could refer them to, please? From my point of view this is urgent, but lack of familiarity is likely to slow things down. Many thanks!

Hi
are you talking about an IT team?
The php-zip extension doesn't require Xerte specific knowledge it's just a PHP extension that needs to be installed/enabled on the web server for Xerte to be able to function correctly and create the export zips that you have reported are no longer being created.
As I already mentioned something must have been changed if the exports worked previously but don't any longer. That might be change of server, upgrade of server OS and/or components and/or Xerte.
Our list of system requirements is available via xot.xerte.org.uk/play.php?template_id=81#systemrequirements and there are both install and upgrade guides in the documentation folder within the download.
But ultimately someone has made a change on your server that has caused the exports to stop working and whoever looks after your server should be able to work out what that was and/or to view the server logs to identify the cause/solution.
If they require free support they can post here.
If they require commercial support with installation and maintenance, upgrades and bespoke developments then some of us provide that including remotely looking after in-house installation to external hosting etc.
