When I export a Scorm Zip file from Xerte Desktop and import it into XOT it fails no matter what is in the project. I've even tried a blank project with no media.

Is this a known bug? And is there a workaround - I.e. like manually extracting?

Unfortunately there isn't really any 'roundtrip authoring' between XOT and Xerte desktop any longer. It was always a bit complicated because of the different ways of authoring content in the developer tool but now the developer tool remains Flash only whereas we have new page types in XOT that never existed in Xerte desktop. Xerte desktop can still be useful for Flash only projects and bespoke projects but it's not really viable to import/export between the two any longer.

Ron, Thanks for your detailed answer.

I've been scratching my head trying to decide which one to use. We're definitely moving to the HTML5 Route since I don't control the environment our students work in.

I'm happy to work with less functionality to support more devices. So XOT it is.
