In xerte/modules/xerte/parent_templates/nottingham/common_html5/css/editorstyles.css I have adjusted the data for some highlights and that works well. If I do that with the panels, that doesn't work, and I'm looking for the place where I can permanently change the data of the "special container".
How / where can I permanently adjust the panels and the special container.

Hi,
Xerte uses a third-party editor called CKEditor. To adjust the default colours provided by this editor, you must modify the file:
/editor/js/vendor/ckeditor/styles.js

For the "special container" background, modify line 43.

Please note that these files will be overwritten when a new release is installed, So please keep a list with all the changes you do in these kind of files, because you need to redo them.

I'd add further comment below but firstly @drlara thanks very much for helping others on these forums - we need more people doing this as it's voluntary for us all!

@rloenen as Tom says you need to be really really careful with customising core files that will be overwritten with future updates and there really isn't any need to do so. I would suggest that you create yourself your own theme(s) and learn SCSS too - that really is the only way to go. You will eventually come unstuck customising core code and there really isn't any need to do so when you have the ability to customise via custom themes and now with sub-templates too.

Hi @drlara,
thanks for your help.

Hi Tom,
I keep a log of technical adjustments and other solutions (scripts). I will extract the data from this later if this data is exceeded during an update.

Hello Ron,
I am also very happy with people like @drlara who want to support a less technical user like me.
I'm going to look at own theme (s) and learn SCSS, but my knowledge of scripting is still pretty primary. First I have to look for how I create my own theme and how I should work with SCSS. That will take some time. Do you (or anyone else) have suggestions where I can find information about creating themes yourself and how to apply SCSS?

Hi
It doesn't work. Not local and not online. See the document for more information.
