A quick question - is there any way to generate a printed version of the pages in a Xerte learning object , perhaps through exporting as a multiple page pdf or something similar ?

It's summer not everyone is about or have time to respond. I'm busy with other things at the moment too so don't really have time to reply but a quick answer…

Firstly if you're interested in contributing/helping join the dev list as well as the technical list all available via www.nottingham.ac.uk/xerte/community.aspx

There has been interest in printing and/or publishing to pdf or epub etc from the xot template and I'm sure this will happen at some point but at the moment this doesn't exist. Part of the problem is how to deal with layout, media and interactivity etc. When you author with xerte you effectively write xml. That xml is currently parsed by either the Flash player engine or the HTML 5 player engine. If you look via the properties of an LO and the xml sharing tab you can also share just the xml.

So it's possible to write/develop additional engines, or consume the xml elsewhere, or add plugins to do something different. Right now the priority amongst the developer community is the new editor and workspace changes to remove the need for Flash altogether but alongside that there are other developents too.

If you have further questions please join the dev list and post there but that's only worthwhile if you have time and commitment to contribute in some way.

If you post here to the forums someone will reply but especially during holidays etc you'll need to be patient. ;-)
