Hi! Please can you help me as a new user? I've tried to download an online toolkit project to save to my lap top as part of a contingency plan. I've exported the project to a zip file, extracted the zip file contents and tried to open the html file in Chrome and also tried to save it as a PDF but neither show the content of the project. Grateful for any advice!

Hi
what's the reason for export - just for an offline backup?
If you're exporting to be able to extract and view on your computer you will need to use the offline export option which is only available with the XOT template not the Bootstrap template.
If you're exporting to be able to later import back in to Xerte or deploy on a website then use the deployment export which is available with all the project templates.
I'm afraid saving as a pdf via your browser will not work.

Hi Ron, thanks for your help.

Yes, I just need to keep a copy offline and won't need to import it back into Xerte. Please can you advise how I do that? I've been going to properties > export and have tried both the zip options but when I extract the files from zip and try to open the html file I get a blank page.

Many thanks in advance,

Penny

Hi Penny
Firstly you mention you've tried "both the zip options" so to be clear if this is a Bootstrap project then I'm afraid there is currently an offline export option for that project template. If it's an XOT project you should see 5 different export options and the only one that will work if you want to export, extract and view offline is the offline export. See attached screenshot.
Also make sure you click publish before you export.

Thanks Ron, I got in a pickle and it was a bootstrap! So sorry to waste your time but now I can save the online toolkit that we have too. Thanks so much.
