I would like to play an audio announcement without the control on the screen

When I try to edit the code for the control to not show the control I can't save my edit. I "inspect" the code and choose 'edit html" but I don't see how to save my edit.
I am doing a flashcard vocabulary drill. I would like the audio to play the word when the "answer side" of the card flips. I put my audio in the "response" pane, but it plays when the module opens and then again with the control when the card turns.
I can't have the audio play in the first instance since then the student has the answer. Any suggests? Thanks.
