Exported Xerte Deployment when extracted does not play

Hi,
I want to play an exported Xerte (Deployment) from the extracted zip file. I have been able to do this in the past by selecting the 'Index' and it then played directly from my computer (not in a VLE).
But more recently i get an error message stating: The project data has not loaded.

Is this because javascript could be blocked?
How can I make this Xerte Deployment play directly from my computer (not from a VLE)?
I have tried opening the Xerte in different browsers.
Hopefully someone can help and provide some advise.

This is not possible on modern browsers. Modern browsers have considerably improved security in recent years.

This is the reason why there is a separate offline download.

You really need a webserver environment to view a deployment zip package.
