Rating Quiz and Merging Xerte templates

Hi All,

I have two questions;
1) Can rating questions be created in Xerte? I.e. option 1 has a weighting of 0 marks, option 2 has a weighting of 1 mark, option 3 has a weighting of 2 marks. I can only see a true or false option with no way to change the weighting?
2) Can we merge two templates from seperate accounts? E.g. if two people created projects, and the one gave the project to the other, can we then merge them together? I can see how to share projects but not how to merge them and i'm not sure if it's even possible.

Hi,

It's possible but you will need access to the server - and you will need to know the template_id of each of the LOs.

BACKUP THE CONTENTS OF ANY FOLDERS THAT YOU ARE MODIFYING FIRST

You need to go into USER-FILES and into each of the relevant LOs (the ones with the IDs that you have identified) and get the data.xml files.

Then you need to open them in a text editor and copy everything between the <learningObject ...> THIS </learningObject> tags

and paste it into the other XML file directly before the closing </learningObject> tag

Then save the changed XML file to the data.xml and preview.xml file of the LO to be updated

Edit the particular LO and should see all the pages there.

You may also have to copy the contents of the media/ folder from one LO to the other as well so that all the media items are available.

Option 1 = 0 Marks
Option 2 = 1 Marks
Option 3 = 2 Marks

No, that functionality is not currently available but we can log it as an enhancement request for a future development.
