Is it posible to amend a Xerte object URL

I'm just curious to see if it's possible to amend a published URL so that instead of '?template_id=275' at the end of the web link it could be a more meaningful phrase (related to the content of the object)?

I'm not sure whether this can be done (I haven't explored the sneak preview of X in detail yet), but have you thought about using a 3rd party tool such as bit.ly, ow.ly, goo.gl etc? I know that with bit.ly, if you login/create an account, you can customise the bit that follows the bit.ly/.

You could then insert this into the notes option on your learning object for future reference if you have several that you wanted to convert.

I was hoping to avoid url shortening services as they don't make sense to the user either!

In wordpress you have the ability to use sensible page naming - it just makes life easier. For example, if I want to share an object I currently have to go and look it up - there's no way to make a reasonable guess! If it was ended with /useful_descriptor it would be more helpful.

How can you manipulate the published object URL, so 'play.php?template_id=275' instead becomes something like 'play_275'?
